November 15, 2012 Thanksgiving Senior Lunch

In celebration of Thanksgiving, an amazing turkey dinner with all the fixings was served to the "seasoned" crowd of our church and community.  No one went home hungry, that's for sure!
Waiting patiently in anticipation.....
Beautiful Olive!
One of the many chef's of the day, Lee, preparing one of the must have's at a turkey dinner...mashed potatoes.

Thankfully, there were several servers helping out with serving the delicious feast!
Another superb job by Jim and Elizabeth!
Judy, enjoying the day.

Forestdale Baptist Church

Wednesday, December 15, 2010

FBC Seniors and Sr. Ministry Team,

The Sr Lunch started off to be a good day. Mary Ann showed up with Christmas decorations and festive tablecloths for the party and lunch. We also had some seasonal music for the occasion. Then we set the table for about 14 - 16 seniors and Ministry Team. We had about 12 seniors and 4 Ministry Team. We had Jim's Homemade Beef Stew and Rolls for our and everybody. The seniors ended up not having any dessert because they were full. Then the seniors brought a White Elephant gift from home and they did a good old fashion Yankee Swap and they had a great time doing and look forward to doing it next year again. The seniors all missed the seniors that weren't there and the Mura's and our 2 little mini hostesses Sydney and Rachael and Glen. The seniors and Ministry Team want to thank Jim Burke for always making our lunch and Mary Ann for always volunteering her services and doing a wonderful job with the decorations.

Thank you and God Bless Everyone,

Forestdale Family Fall Festival

Where: Forestdale Baptist Church

When: October 16, 2010

Who: Forestdale Baptist Church Family

The day started off with the weather looking gloomy but the day got better with the sun coming out every so often with a lot of clouds; it also was cold and windy. The seniors had a booth with hot cider. The seniors raffled off 2 Apple Pies donated and made by Sue Willey (one of the seniors) and 4 Homemade Oatmeal Breads made and donated by me (Judy, Sr Leader). We also had a game for the kids where they threw a ball through his head and when they won they received a piece of candy as a prize. The kids seem to have a lot of fun as did some of the seniors that volunteered that day.
The seniors also had a huge jar of M&Ms that you had to guess @ how many M&Ms were in the jar. We had 240 people guess how many M&Ms were in the jar! Brenda Loud came the closest to the exact amount guessing 5,325 M&Ms. The total count was 5,375! She was off by only 50. We had some of our seniors helping out throughout the day and they were: June Gordon, Janet Gage, Drema Cunningham, Lee Thomas and Stacey Bowen. Chris Brown, one of the kid's from Youth Ministry, did a wonderful job @ helping out.
I want to thank everyone that donated candy & pies and for their help at our church's Fall Festival this year. Thank you to Stacey Bowen for her candy donation and her help with helping making things for my posters and other stuff with her computer skills. Also, Lee Thomas for his mega help counting all the M&Ms and donation of the candy etc., Becky Gilfoy for donating the clown & the sign on the jar, and to Chris & Kelly Lerch for the Apple Cider and their crock pot for the day. I really appreciated everybody's help throughout the day. And also a HUGE Thank you to Glen for his help.
We had a very successful day and everyone had a great time!! ;) Thank you again for everyone's help and I love you all very much,

Judy, Sr Ministry Leader ;)

Thanksgiving Sr. Lunch

Forestdale Baptist Church

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

FBC Seniors and Sr. Ministry Team,

The table were decorated with pumpkins, festive decorations and Thanksgiving
tablecloths by Mary Ann Stocum and her grandson Chris Campuzano. Jim Burke
made an awesome dinner of turkey, squash, turnips, yams, mashed potatoes and
my Homemade Oatmeal Bread and White Bread. The seniors all came in around
noontime to visit with each other and visit. We had 14 seniors, the Ministry Team,
C.E. Pastor Mike Mura and his wife Jessica Mura and their 2 daughters and also
Chris Campuzano, who also volunteered with his grandmother Mary Ann Stocum.
Pastor Glen Watson did the prayer for the meal and then him and I helped Jim
serve the meal to everyone there. Glen asked everyone to say what they were
thankful for before we all enjoyed our meal. Everybody enjoyed the meal, then
we played Thanksgiving Bingo and had some prizes for all our winners. Then we
had an assortment of desserts to enjoy. The seniors really enjoyed their dinner
and Fellowshiped together. Thank you Glen and everyone that helped out with the
dinner and getting it ready for the seniors.

Love & Blessings to you all,

Judy Bilodeau, Sr. Ministry Leader
